Lessons from this Pandemic for the Future of the Education System

Future of the Education System

The COVID-19 pandemic has shocked the world to its core. Every economy, every business, every state affair, has come to a standstill. Even day to day life has stopped. The world has seen something they had never witnessed before. While scientists are yet to research on the cure for this, governments are working out a way to reinstate life amidst the virus. Gauging from scientific predictions, we are not aware of the expiration date of this pandemic, hence making a pathway through it is the only solution.

The education field needs to solution their problems as quick as possible because they have been greatly by the unprecedented lock down. These solutions may also give birth to a new education system that will stay forever. Firstly, unlearning the old school techniques and opening doors to new ones is the primary solution that every education institution would need to apply. One the pandemic passes, we will be left with plethora of lessons learned during this situation that will influence the future of education.

Importance of Classroom Learning

Students will learn the importance of classroom sessions. Staring at computer screens all day in isolation is not something they signed up for. Although it is convenient to work in the comfort of your home, they are more drawn towards, energized, enthusiastic and interactive sessions of learning in the presence of their teachers and peers.

Online Learning can be the New Technique

Machine Learning has been around for a long time, but it was never a full-fledged process adapted by any educational institution. However, the recent pandemic has forced the educators to change their ways and turn to easier and convenient learning. Every process from teaching to personal sessions, examinations to grading, certification to career guidance can be easily executed with online learning. This technique can replace the existing system with better accuracy and efficiency.

Change in Outlook

Many educators disregarded the concept of online education. They always believed that the old school technique was the best and most effective way of learning. Although they started online learning, it never was 100%. They always insisted on a 15%-20% attendance as a mandate. However, now that the tables have turned, online seems to be the best sought option. Educators believe in the system and trust that online learning can also make learning a fun and effective process. They have become more open and accommodative of new technologies supporting online learning fostering a new and positive mindset.

Widespread of Knowledge

Since remote learning is a facility that can be accessed from any part of the world, it has created a new pathway in a spread of knowledge. Not only students but educators too have become tech savvy using new technology and methods of learning. Learning with technology is no more a far-fetched concept. It is the present and it is happening. Students can grasp and gain more knowledge when they are compelled to read the study material.

We can enlist umpteen effects that will follow once the deadly virus disappears. However, the these are just the probable lessons, the facts will be learned only when the change is initiated and adapted with a receptive mind.
